Hi! My name is Derek Li and I'm currently a sophomore at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign working towards a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science and Mathematics.
For as long as I can remember I have been interested in technology and problem solving. As a result of this, I am looking to create solutions to real world problems. With my background in mathematics, and a strong tool kit with computer science I hope to build software that can satisfy these goals.
Since starting college, I have been involved in a variety of extracurriculars. Currently I am a part of ACM in the Natural Language Learning group, and am working on a project with a group that can summarize and categorize an article based solely off of its main body. Also, I spend a lot of time training with the Club Tennis team and the Triathlon team. In my free time I like to stay active, be outside, and travel!
